What are the dates of the programme?

  • The course begins 27 January 2020, and takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings and Saturday day.

Can I keep working while studying at The University of Manchester Coding Boot Camp?

  • Yes. The programme is designed for working professionals who are actively seeking a career change.

Who teaches the course?

  • This content of this programme has been developed by Trilogy Education Services and academically approved by The University of Manchester. The programme will be delivered by Trilogy Education instructors, who have been approved by The University of Manchester.

How long is the programme?

  • The programme runs for six months, over two weekday evenings and a Saturday.

Do you provide career planning support?

  • All participants receive career support and coaching, soft skills training and guidance in how to strengthen their online portfolio.
  • In order to qualify for continued careers support, you must successfully complete the programme, have legal status to work in the UK and have an approved CV and portfolio of projects, completed and approved by Trilogy Education’s Career Services four weeks prior to completion.

Do I need to have previous experience in programming before enrolling?

  • No. While having some background can help, we have 50 hours of online pre-programme tutorials that will get you up to speed and ready to start learning from day 1.

  • The Coding Boot Camp is a part-time programme that allows working professionals to study web development without leaving work.

How many hours a week is the programme?

  • You can expect to spend approximately 10-12 hours per week in the classroom.
  • On average, our successful participants then spend a further 20 hours per week studying and completing assignments.

What are the requirements to complete the programme?

  • In order to receive a certificate of completion for the programme, you must:
    • Attend a minimum of 95% of the class sessions.
    • Complete 90% of your homework assignments, including 100% of all project work (homework and projects are graded).
    • Have made full payment for the programme, prior to the end date of the programme.

What is the tuition fee?

  • The tuition fee, payable to Trilogy Education Services, is £8,400 including VAT
  • A deposit of £1,200 including VAT is required to secure your place.
  • There are no additional fees for textbooks or software.

What are the payment options?

  • A deposit of £1,200 including VAT is required to secure your place in the programme. Deposit payments can be made by Visa, Mastercard, or American Express.

Do I need to bring my own computer?

  • Yes, you will need to bring your own laptop to work on during the classes, which must meet the following requirements:
    • Windows at least 8 GB RAM with a dual core processor (64 bit).
    • Mac over 2 years old – 8 GB RAM and dual core processor.
    • Mac under 2 years.

What are the entry requirements?

  • In order to enrol on the programme:
    • You must be over 18 years of age
    • You must have a GCSE grade A-C in Maths
    • You must meet the English Language proficiency requirements outlined below
    • You must have passed the admissions interview and aptitude assessment
    • You must have paid the deposit
    • A degree is not required to enrol into the programme

How do I prove my level of proficiency in English?

  • We accept the following tests:
    • GCSE English Language grade C/4 
    • IELTS – minimum score of 6.5
    • TOEFL iBT (internet based test) – minimum score of 87
    • TOEFL (paper based) – minimum score of 570
    • Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) and Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE)

Is the programme accredited?

  • Participants who successfully complete The University of Manchester Coding Boot Camp will be awarded a certificate of completion from The University of Manchester. The programme is not accredited.
